Consulting and interim support
Sometimes an organisation does not need another permanent appointment. It needs experienced senior capacity to lead a project, solve a problem or turn a plan into practical delivery.
I work with businesses and organisations on defined consulting and interim assignments, providing strategic thinking alongside the practical experience needed to make things happen.
This could mean joining your organisation for two or three days a week over several months, taking responsibility for a specific piece of work and working alongside your existing leadership team.
When interim support can help
You may have an important project that needs dedicated leadership.
A strategy may have been agreed but is not progressing as expected.
Your existing leadership team may not have the time or capacity to take on another major priority.
You may need experienced cover while recruiting for a permanent appointment.
Or you may want an independent perspective from someone who can quickly understand the organisation, identify what is getting in the way and move the work forward.
Where I can add value
Strategy and delivery
Turning broad objectives into clear priorities, practical plans and measurable actions.
Business growth and commercial improvement
Identifying opportunities, strengthening the customer proposition and improving how the organisation approaches growth.
Operational improvement
Reviewing systems, responsibilities and ways of working to improve performance and reduce unnecessary complexity.
Programme and project delivery
Taking ownership of a defined piece of work, coordinating activity and keeping delivery focused on the intended outcome.
Partnerships and stakeholder engagement
Building productive relationships across businesses, public sector organisations, delivery partners and other stakeholders.
Experience grounded in delivery
My experience combines business ownership, leadership and business advisory work.
I spent more than 20 years building and leading a logistics business that grew to around £5 million turnover and employed 55 people. This gave me direct experience of growth, people management, operations, commercial decision making, technology implementation and organisational change.
More recently, I supported over 100 businesses through a publicly funded business growth and resilience programme. This involved diagnosing business challenges, developing practical plans, supporting delivery and reporting progress to senior stakeholders.
I understand both the strategic conversation and the work required to turn it into results.
A flexible way to bring in experience
Assignments can be structured around the needs of the organisation.
This could involve working two or three days a week for six months, leading a defined project or providing additional senior capacity during a period of growth or change.
Each engagement would begin with a clear scope, agreed outcomes and an understanding of how success will be measured.
Work can be delivered on site, remotely or through a combination of both, depending on the organisation and the assignment.
Discuss a consulting requirement
If your organisation has an important piece of work that needs experienced leadership and practical delivery, I would be happy to have an initial conversation.
